-Intellectual property stuff

So I'm thinking about creating a club that essentially breaks down like so:

You have artists (whatever the specialty, anime, american, whatever)
then you have Writers, those who specialize in comic book format.

and then, you bring them together; a writer pairs up with an artist and once that's settled, each team gets like... assignments... the assignments would be like:

-draw a 6-10 page short about (insert something)

-create a character that will represent your group and do an expositional thingy on them

-so on and so forth

and It'll be fun and we can do stuff like that and contests too! This will essentially challenge the writer and artist's ability and see how versatile they are. In the process, they become better at what they do, the make friends and everybody is just dandy...

whaddya think? OOH also, this is intellectual property so if you steal my club idea, I will hunt you down and sew your ass... SHUT! and make you take a dump! and I'll make you take your finger, rip the stitches out, make you dip your finger in the poo and watch you eat it until you throw up, then you gotta absorb your throw-up through your nose and I'll watch you as you start getting seizures from the corrosion of your olfactory nerve.

moral of the story: don't steal

but DO gimme feedback about the club. sound good? okay!

All in all, do it!

This already exists, and you're a member there. Josh Smith writes, Luke Lopez drew, and I told them both how I was better because I write and draw like a true auteur.

I've tried team ups before with writers. There's a few issues of conflict:

1) If the writer lacks motivation, no script is produced and the pencillers time is wasted.
2) The writer may treat the penciller as his slave rather than collaborator.
3) If a penciller doesn't like the writers story, they'll lack motivation.
4) If a penciller produces a set of sequentials, he has something that can become a comic. If a writer produces a script, all he has is a script.
5) When there is a division of labour between writer and artist, sometimes it is necessary for an editor; so that the book can have a guiding vision.

Such an idea relies on a lot of communication and respect between writer and penciller, or at least an editor for moderating purposes.

Btw, I do like these kind of ideas because they're always fun and anthology books are always cool.

I guess even though I belong to this club, not much really goes on - no club activity or events and what not... so yeah.
:iconsmygba:
Speak up, suggest something to Thunderking/LiteracySuks1 or note the Comictalk account.

I agree with the above, writers tend to enslave their artistic counterparts. This is not just limited to comic art either, it's reflected in media projects too such as television shows and news broadcasts.

But I'd try to do it though I'll be the first to tell you I'm lazy as hell about drawing/uploading to dA XD

guess I must've been lucky to have been blessed with such an awesome writer. :iconcatriana:

she aint any of the bad things listed above. She is ever so gracious and never ever bosses me around.
